THE CRAZE
For decades, the American consumer, ages 21 to 40+, has been attracted to funny and hip tee shirts, baseball hats and visors along with other “swag” items when it come to a college, resort or unique destinations. Tee shirt shops featuring college and destination names, logos and sayings always have been a strong retail seller.
Men of ages 21-49, have 15-40 tee shirts and 4-10 hats in there wardrobe at any given time. Over 95% of their tee shits and hats have a logo or name where which it was purchased, thus making the tee shirt, hat or visor a badge of notoriety. In addition most “swag” items such as shot glasses, beer koozies, lighters, bottle openers, lip balm and pocket items has the name or logo displayed.
Women are generally more selective when purchasing a tee shirt or tank top, however if the apparel has a sex appeal, it sells.
In conclusion, the tee shirt and light apparel/swag is a multi billion dollar industry.
A HELLUVA LIQUOR STORE CONCEPT!
In 1977, Rick Cuny was enjoying a few cocktails in Minturn, Colorado when he entered a naming contest for the “Best New Name” for a store in Avon, Colorado. The town was the future ski resort; Beaver Creek was to open in 1980. Rick won the contest and the name was Beaver Liquors. Rick immediately saw the potential to own his own business and purchased the name and location where Beaver Liquors thrives today.
In the late 1980’s, Rick launched the Beaver Liquors apparel and swag line with hip tee shirts, hats, visors, posters and the infamous “No wrapper, No snapper” condoms. These items have been the Beaver Liquors icing on his cake. People from around the globe have traveled through traitorous snow storms, ice packed mountain passes and a few “mud” seasons to purchase one these cool and sometimes outrageous Beaver Liquors attire and swag.
Rick has formulated a solid and creative business plan that has evolved the Beaver Liquors Apparel and Swag line to a formable profit center for the original store. His community involvement, innovative marketing and positive attitude have made Beaver Liquors the top rated liquor store in the Vail Valley since 1981. In addition to using the Beaver Liquor name and apparel line, you get the Beaver Play Book.
HOW TO BECOME A BEAVER LIQUORS APPAREL AND SWAG STORE
Beaver Holdings, Inc. (the Beavor) allows you (the Beavee) to use the name “Beaver Liquors” in your DBA (Doing Business As). You may create a name like Beaver Liquors in “Anytown” or Beaver Liquors on “Street Name”. You may not use Beaver Liquors on its own. You must comply with all state and local naming requirements.
Once you obtain the blessing of the name change, its time to get busy.
Beavee (That’s You!) Start up Costs:
- Updating the store outdoor and indoor signage, business cards and any advertising or promotional materials with our Beaver Liquors logo.
- Designate at least 100 square feet of store space for the apparel and swag display, more display, more products sold!
- Order a display case and racks.
- Obtain a separate sales tax license and/or register for the apparel and swag purchases, if applicable by state or local law.
- Place your order of Beaver Liquors flagship products and your stores Beaver Liquors name from the Beavor (That’s Us!).
- Set a “Grand Beaver” opening date for the new and improved name.
- Recruit the “Beaver Liquors Babes” for the Grand Opening and future events.
- Laugh all the way to the bank!
